Promotion of Social Entrepreneurship in Rural regions

 

European rural regions are facing several societal challanges, social innovation becomes more important for developing solutions that are sustainable. There is a clear need to adapt business support  infrastructures and measures offered by regional or local authorities to the special needs of social enterprises. Therefore DelFin aims to develop financial ecosystems for the promotion of Social Entrepreneurship in rural regions.

Throughout the project eight partners from four central European countries join their forces to improve social entrepreneurship in rural regions:

Germany:

  • Giacomo Brodolini Foundation
  • Finpiemonte

Croatia:

  • Town of Duga Resa
  • Brodoto

Hungary:

  • Hajdú-Bihar County Government
  • IFKA Public Benefit Non-profit Limited Company for the Development of the Industry

 

Based on the cooperation of the partners above the following outputs are expected by the end of the project:

TOOLS

The partners will develop a toolbox for the promotion of social entrepreneurship with focus on business support structures (e.g. accelerators or incubators) and financing/funding of social enterprises and entrepreneurs.

PILOT ACTIONS

The partners implement 4 pilot projects in Germany (Saalekreis), Hungary (Hajdú-Bihar county), Croatia (Duga Resa) and Italy (rural areas in Piedmont) to test the selected tools out of the toolbox for the promotion of social entrepreneurship which will be combined in a pilot program.

TRAININGS

Partners implement 8 capacity building seminars in their regions to improve the capacity of the target groups for the promotion of social entrepreneurship.

STRATEGIES AND ACTION PLANS

Based ont he problem analysis, the partners will compete joint transnational strategy for the promotion of social enrepreneurship in rural disadvantaged regions to define visions and set objectives and priorities involving relevant stakeholders from different policy levels. This strategy forms the common guiding framework to improve the financial ecosystem and implement concrete activities in the action plan.

The programme running from April 1. 2019. to March 30. 2021. is funded by the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme and the Hungarian Government and supported by the European Regional Development Fund that encourages cooperation on shared challenges in cenral Europe. The grand awarded is about 1.9 million euro.
